Healing Burnout Is One Decision Away

Women everywhere are exhausted and overworked. 

After the new year, we’re just plain tired. 

For far too long we’ve been doing too much. We have full time careers while caretaking and tending to our families. We’re trying to balance deadlines at work with being the loving and present, women, mothers and partners we want to be. 

We keep soldiering on, muscling through and putting off living our best lives by kicking the can of happiness down the road. 

I know you don’t mean to ignore your health or happiness. You just have TOO MUCH. 

We justify living like this because we have good jobs, decent relationships and “it’s not that bad”. 

Sometimes we even feel guilty for feeling this way, because others have it waaay worse than we do. 

But the truth is… we’re lying to ourselves. 

We’re not really living the lives we want to live… the lives we’re meant to live. 

We can’t really take care of our families that way we want to. 

We’re not really fully present with our partner. 

The gut wrenching part is that, in order to give our all at work, we’re kind of half-assing it everywhere else. 

And that feels horrible. 

We want better for ourselves, but we don’t know where to start. 

Here’s what I want you to know. 

Start by healing the acute symptoms of burnout. You’ve got to get a handle on where your energy is going. 

Stabilize your energy.

Get out of exhaustion and overwhelm. 

Manage your calendar. 

Control the cadence of your day. 

Eliminate distractions.

Focus on what’s important. 

That’s the first step. First you stabilize and heal.
