How To Live A Life That Matters

How’re ya doing? I’m curious how you’re feeling, three months in to 2023.

Maybe you’re working on first quarter goals and you’ve got momentum…

Maybe your resolutions are always on your mind and you’re working towards them…

Or, maybe you feel woefully behind…

Maybe you don't HAVE the time to think about all of that…

Or, maybe it’s not even worth the effort to keep trying… “I’m only going to crash and burn anyway.”

I get it.

That “Nasty Nancy” voice in our heads can get pretty loud sometimes. Thing is, there’s something real important “Nancy” doesn’t know about life.”

“You will regret the life you didn’t reflect upon”

It’s that simple.

If you want to be proud of the life you lived…

If you want to know that what you did actually mattered…

If you want to go to bed each night with a deep knowing that what you did with this one life of yours was what you were meant to do…

You need to carve out time for reflection.

I do this every week.

And, every quarter.

My personal Quarterly Review is built in to my schedule.

At the beginning of every year, I schedule four quarterly reviews on my calendar.

Because when we take the time to reflect on our past, before we plan ahead we:

  1. Measure our past gains. It’s tempting to skip over our progress. In order to protect us, our brains have a negative bias. Regular reflection highlights our wins so we can celebrate them.

  2. Stop the tunnel vision. You know how easy it is to go down a rabbit hole when “researching” something on the web? Yeah… life is like that, too. We need to consciously get out of the tunnel in order to see what’s ahead of us.

  3. Stop the comparison. When we reflect on our life, we’re measuring ourselves against ourselves. You’ve heard comparison kills. Don’t do it. Measure your GAINS and celebrate them.

  4. Learn from every experience. There’s no more win or fail. When we stop and reflect on our progress, there’s only two options. Win or grow.

  5. Never start over. With regular reflection, we  just begin again. Starting over is defeating. Beginning again is exciting.

On Saturday April 15, 2023, I’ll be doing my own Quarterly Review.

Want to join me?

I’ll send you my Quarterly Review Worksheet and we’ll do it together, in real time, over zoom.

The “Quarterly Review Worksession with Lisa” will be from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Central on Saturday April 15th.

Email me at lisa@livingfullybalanced.com, and I'll send you my zoom link.

If no one shows up, no harm no foul. I plan to do my quarterly review during that time regardless.

But, if you’d like to see how I do it, and chat with others about your challenges and wins, just email me and I’ll send you the link and my worksheet.

I know not everyone gets as jazzed at reflection as I do. Sometimes I can be a dork.

And yet, maybe this quirky behavior is the missing link between you and your goals.

Are you in?

Email me at lisa@livingfullybalanced and let me know.

We’ve got this!,

Lisa

P.S. And if you know that you want someone on your side, who gets the chaos you’re currently in, and has figured a way out… schedule a call with me. I’ve been burned out, and I now know the tricks and tools to heal it and prevent it from coming back. Let’s talk and get you back to your best self.
